Day 3 - Living a Holy Life
All day long our lessons, devotions, and even the games played have reinforced the day’s idea of living a Higher Life, heeding our call to a Holy Life! One thing that gets in the way of our Holy Life… is temptation.
Temptation: Anything we’re enticed to do, or don’t do, that would detract from a Holy Life.
Temptation is a big deal! So what can we do about it? To face temptation differently to live holy life?
One thing good to know and keep in mind is 1 Cor 10:13:
"No temptation has come upon you except what is common to humanity. But God is faithful; he will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but with the temptation he will also provide the way out so that you may be able to bear it."
How do we bear it? Foremost, by being familiar with and knowing The Word! Also by encouraging each other, having wisdom to avoid tempting situations in the first place, and having the grace to forgive ourselves and others when we fail.
We have such a great group of kids! Please pray for them to pursue holiness, there is nothing the world has to offer that compares to what God has in store (1 Cor 2:9) for those who love him and follow him.
